The sturdy tactical LED lamp is switched on and off via a push button that is large enough to be operated even while wearing gloves. Accidental activation or deactivation of the UL10 UV is prevented by requiring a relatively firm press of the switch. The NEXTORCH UL10 UV police light starts in UV mode. In many cases of ID misuse, such as with genuine IDs whose photos have been tampered with, the HSP (Holographic Shadow Picture) feature becomes visible under the UV light of the NEXTORCH UL10 UV: When the ID is viewed at a shallow angle, the real photo of the holder appears a second time as a holographic image next to the visible one under 365 nm UV light. The visible photo and the hidden holographic version match only if the ID has not been falsified. The NEXTORCH UL10 UV can also be used to quickly verify the authenticity of vehicle registration documents. For example, one of the security features of genuine vehicle papers is a federal eagle that is visible only under 365 nm UV light. Euro banknotes also contain fluorescent markers embedded in the paper for anti-counterfeiting. If counterfeit money is suspected, the NEXTORCH UL10 UV allows for a quick on-the-spot authenticity check without special equipment. In addition to UV light, the NEXTORCH UL10 UV can, at the press of a button, emit normal white light. At its highest brightness level, it provides an illumination range of 18 meters. For close-up work, the light can be dimmed. The color temperature is predominantly warm white, which reduces eye fatigue during prolonged use. Colors are rendered very naturally in this light, providing an additional safety advantage. In emergencies, the NEXTORCH UL10 UV can be switched to S.O.S mode. Once activated, the clip light automatically flashes the international distress signal with a brightness of 65 lumensideal for marking danger zones in the dark. The lamp head of this robust clip light can be adjusted 180°, so the beam always points exactly where its needed. Naturally, the NEXTORCH UL10 UV is water-resistant, tested to the IPX4 standard. Splash water from any direction wont affect this tough all-purpose service light. It is, of course, also shock-resistant. The practical UL10 UV runs on standard AAA batteries, which are included. The housing is made of a nylon and fiberglass composite, making it completely resistant to frost. To avoid reflection and remain discreet in tactical use, the housing is finished in a dark matte gray.
